Create Your Leadership Legacy

Being Unhappy at Work is NOT Okay

Create a Career You Love Today

The fact is the national security field burns people out. Even when you love your job and the mission, the high stress, overwhelm, urgency, frustrating bureaucracy, and bad bosses can crush your soul. Sometimes we don’t like our jobs because they’re not what we thought or a good fit. Sometimes we find ourselves in jobs that are slow, uninteresting, and just plain boring. Many of us struggle to get promoted, get a raise, and advance into more senior positions both in government/military and in industry. The fact is that we spend most of our days – and most of our life – at work. Where you work, what you do, and who you work with has an enormous impact on you. There’s no time to waste staying in a job that won’t promote you, takes advantage of you, gives you little autonomy or freedom, and doesn’t recognize you for your hard work.

I’ve experienced all of the above. I’m here for the mission, and I LOVE it. I volunteered for shift work and all the tasks no one wanted to do. I worked crisis and war accounts supporting operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Libya. I won awards for my work. But I had bosses from hell that made my life miserable. I was stressed and overwhelmed with deadlines and a huge workload (do more with less right?). I wasn’t getting promoted or selected for the leadership positions I wanted. And I was so desperate to get out that I took the first job I found and encountered an entirely new problem: completely uninteresting, boring, and tedious work. Yikes.

The longer you stay where you are, the longer you are wasting your true potential. Your skills, talents, and incredible leadership capabilities are going unused and undeveloped. The longer you go without a plan, the more likely you are to accept jobs that aren’t a good fit or don’t help you advance and move toward your long-term goals. Don’t waste any more time frustrated, lost, and unsure of how to navigate and build your career. You are meant for more. You want to leave a legacy. It’s time for a change. It’s time to take the next step in your career, move up, and find a new role for you.

Introducing the Leadership Legacy Program

How did I stop the cycle of stress and frustration? How did I turn my career around and break through the advancement ceiling I was facing? What did I do when I had bad bosses and challenges at work?

Coaching + Mentorship + Leadership Development.

That’s it. I had a career coach that changed my life. She opened my eyes and helped me gain self-awareness of my strengths, weaknesses, and work preferences. A mentor introduced me to career mapping and networking. I jumped into every leadership development program I could. I learned how to manage my mindset, adapt my style at work, and be intentional and strategic in my decision making. I jumped up the career ladder (much faster than my peers!), and I finally became a leader creating real impact for my customers.

Coaching transformed me so much that I knew I had to help other people. It wasn’t just my career that changed – my life changed. My stress levels went down, my happiness went up. I had tools to manage new, uncertain, and challenging situations.

I knew I wasn’t the only one facing these challenges. I knew I wanted – had -to help others. I became a certified coach, obtained my Project Management Professional credential, and pursued many other coaching and leadership certifications. Through my training, education, and personal experience as a leader and hiring manager, I created the Leadership Legacy Program to help others in the national security and defense sector find work they love, advance their careers, and become impactful leaders.

The Leadership Legacy Program helps you create the career you’ve been dreaming of by coaching through two frameworks I created. In the C-Suite Accelerator, you develop a career roadmap, position yourself in the market, get a new job, and transition into your new role. In the Leadership Legacy Framework, you learn how to Lead Yourself, Lead Others, and Lead Organizations. It’s a holistic approach that empowers you to create the results you want.

You Can Achieve Your Professional Goals - And More
